Reliability improvement of a Vortex pump test bench
Join our Engineering Department for a concrete industrial project: improving the reliability of our test bench and updating the performance curves of the Vortex range.

Who we are
ESP Groupe (Eva Seim Pompe Groupe) has been designing and manufacturing high-quality pumps for industrial applications for several decades. As part of the development of our Vortex pump range, we are looking for an engineering intern to join our Design Office and participate in an end-to-end industrial project.
Your mission
Reporting to the Head of the Design Office , you will be responsible for improving the reliability of the Vortex pump test bench and updating the associated performance curves.
The test bench performs three functions:
Final inspection
Pump checks before packaging and shipping.
Performance measurement
Flow rate, pressure and vibration: Flow/Pressure curves, NPSHr and absorbed power.
Prototype testing
Test campaigns on new developments.
The phases of the project
Improving the reliability of the test loop
- Normative research and state of the art
- Optimization of the hydraulic network, selection and adjustment of sensors
- Evaluation of measurement uncertainties
- Study of possible compliance with current standards
Testing and data analysis
- Definition of the test plan and execution of measurement campaigns
- Data analysis and processing, performance curve updates
- Development of a small application to facilitate the formatting and use of data and graphs
Formalization
- Drafting of operating procedures for the use of the test bench
Additional topics
Depending on the progress of the main project:
- Study and design of a parallel loop for sand-laden water testing, if the first mission is fully successful.
- Updated dimensions and nomenclature for Vortex pumps in the catalog according to the new standard
Desired profile
You are a Master 1 student or an engineering school student ( 4th year) , specializing in mechanics, mechatronics, industrial engineering or equivalent field.
- — General mechanics, fluid mechanics and dimensioning
- — CAD tools, ideally SolidWorks
- — Physical measurements and instrumentation
- + Application development or data processing (a plus)
